IN 1928

Optimistic reports on the coal trade of the district were submitted at the annual meeting of the North-East Coal Exporters' Association, held at New- castle.

Mr. David T. Hobkirk, who present- ed the report of the directors of the association, said the returns of business done by the members showed a total of 12,499 tons of coal and coke dealt with last year, as compared with 12,130,000 tons in 1927.
