China To-day-Some Views and Reviews
A Leader Wanted

The war-cicuds have once more gathered over China. They did not, however, come as a surprise to those who had kept themselves in touch with current politics. No serious-minded man could have failed to observe that very dif- ficult days were ahead of China, and if one may be permitted to make a forecast, there are many -more such days to overcome be- fore China can truly be said to be at peace, not only with the world, but with herself as well.
What China needs is a leader-- not a man who is willing to shoulder an enormous burden of responsibility but one who must be permitted to make decisions, to have the faculty of Inspiring those, about him, and, above all, to be a figure upon which the na- tion can fix its eyes.
