As to Japan's China trade during the month, it showed a considerable decline mainly due to the increased export to China during January in anticipation of the increased Customs duties taxed from February 1. The subsequent result was that the total export value amounted to Y,28,000,000 recording Y.89,000,000 as an export excess, which, as compared with that of the preceding month and that

The financial market has remained easy with the bank rates falling, while the loan market showed some anima- tion, though fresh contracts were not remarkable. On the other hand, in- dustrial circles as well as stock goods markets are heavily depressing, owing to the cautious attihade prevailing, and the share market is also dull with no ¡demand
for funds.
The specific features expressed in the Tariff Revision Bill which was put before the present Diet session can be analysed in substance:
