JAMES BRADDOCK BEATS SLATTERY

New York, March 11. James Braddock won over Jimmy Slattery by a technical knock-out in the ninth round of a scheduled 10-round battle here -to-night,

The Kowloon pair Slattery, dazed, toppled to the made the mistake of being caught floor. He seemed unable to rise to often about the service line, and the referee stopped the fight betwixt and between as it were, so and awarded his decision to Brad- that their opponents had little diffi-dockUnited Press." culty in placing the ball on their blind spot. The experience should. do the Fincher brothers a lot of good if they learn from it that in doubles, position rapidly taken is an all important factor. A very sporting game efficiently umpired.
