In fact, the locals should beat the Regiment unless the Somersets possess very capable Reserves. Chinese "B" should- romp home against the P.W.D. Chinese in a local Derby, as the Chinese "B" are really the strong reserve side of the Athletic, and should go far in the competition, The K.O.S.B. should beat the R.A.F. in a good match and enter the semi-final.

The Shief in Hong Kong is like the English Cup-the big event of the season--and the writer hopes that the results will be in accord ance with, the run of play in all matches, which are billed for the

full 45 minutes each way.

Juttings

In the semi-final of the football

competition at Shameen for the 10.12 Watson Shield, H.M.S. "Senmew" beat H.M.S. "Circala" by three 10.16 goals to nil. The game was mar- red by a large number of penalties, 10.20 both sides handling the ball con- siderably. The "Seamew" scared 1.24 their first goal early in the first half and netted another from a 10.28 penalty kick. The third goal came from another penalty early in the 10.32 second half.

The final will be between the 10.36 Shameen Sports Club and H.M.S. 10.40

is doubtful although the R.A. have already beaten the Somersets in an Army Tic.

Shield football is Cap football and the "Somersets" may spring a surprise, although on form so far R.A. should win es pecially if Sergt. Leach turns out to strengthen the attack.

The issue Kowloon F.C. Mr. Robson during the past season has been a regular playing member at half-back and full back for Kowloon. He was a good footballer and a genuine sportsman on the playing field. He had been associated with local football only during the past sea- son but latterly had played himself regularly into the first team, and was popular with his Clubmates and with all opponents. Mr.

The meeting of Kowloon and the Chinese Athletic is interesting owing to Kowloon's reputation as Shield fighters. Although the Athletic are going strong Kowloon have got together these last few weeks and will fully extend the Athletic. The home team will start favourites, but have worthy opponents. The Athletic should win, but they will need to be all out to do so. The loss of Robson to Kowloon is a big one. Kowloon have had very much losses of good players this season, but many of the young brigade are proving their worth in the Club's emer- gency.

The South China v. Royal Navy tie at Caroline Hill should be the bly match of the day as the Navy ere going strong and will be all out to repeat their former win- a declaive oromin the League a few weeks ago. South China's form Intely has been variable, and injuries to players have weakened the side. but the reserves tried have given good shows la recent matches and the team is full of promise. The locals will give the Navy a much better game than on the last occasion, although the lat- ter can command at the present time a strong side and should win. The match should be of the real Cup the order and a good sporting
