PRESIDENT HALL

WINS

A Thrilling Finish In The Straight

ANOTHER TIME RECORD

Derby Day opened auspiciously at Happy Valley to-day, it being the second day of a very successful annual race meeting for the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Long before the first saddling hell at noon punters were discuss ing the merits of and form shown by the griffins. Some had their minds made up that the honours lay between President Hall and Adam, whilst a minority preferred to seek longer odds elsewhere.

President Hall fought out a thrilling finish to get home first. The attendance, stage for stage, was even bigger than that'

of yesterday, with an increase in support proportionately.
