UNITED FRONT AGAINST MONTREAL

DEALING WITH COMPETITION

A suggestion that the North At- lantic ports, instead of fighting one another as heretofore, should unite In an effort to meet the incrasing competition of Montreal and other Eastern Canadian ports, is made by Mr. Frank S. Davla, manager of the Maritime Association of the Boston Chamber of Commerce, in a com- munication to "The New York Journal of Commerce" in reference to the movement started by the porti of New York Authority, to bring the commercial interests of the port dis- trict together in defence of the port against attempts to divert traf- 1ac to rival Atlantic and Gulf ports.
