The Chinese Athletic matches in the first and second division with the R.A, and R.A. Res. have been postponed owing to the death
of a prominent official of the former Club.
A full League programme is otherwise arranged for Saturday. The defeat of South China by the Police on Wednesday last has added to the interest of the League championship and South China's check is all in the good interest of sport, for the League champion- ship is and will be very open until the end of the competition.

On Saturday four good matches are down for decisión. appear to have struck their old- time form, as their smashing de- feat of the R.A. in the mid-week match was a remarkable perform-
ance.
The Borderers will provide much more stern opposition, although on their day the Queen's are the best Regimental aide in the Colony, and they should take both points, with a full side, at Sookumpos.
*
Kowloon entertain Recreio and this should be a fine match, local rivalry adding to the interest. Kowloon took a point from Re- creio at King's Park but they will require to be on their best be- haviour to repeat this perform- ance, and if the Recreio fold their full Shield side, the points should go their way,
•
The Police added to their re- putation on Wednesday last by a amart win over South China, and I was much impressed by the dash of the Police, also by the indivi- dual performances of Hudson, centre-half, and Fraser, centre forward.
The Police have not been served in these two positions 30 well for many seasons.
All round the Police are a very cap- able side, and with the Club much Improved, a great match should' result. I think the Club will tumble to the Police game quick er than they do to the Chinese, and for this reason I would not be surprised to sce Club snatch a' point although on form the Police should win outright.
*
South China entertain Royal Navy at Caroline Hill and this match in the absence of the Ath- letic will draw the crowd at Hong Kong. The Navy showed оп Saturday last that they can upset the beat and Southhins will have to produce all their form to take full points. The Navy side will be strengthened by the arrival of "Cornwall." Navy, of course, are as familiar with Caroline Hill as the home team. South China went down to the Police on Wednesday after a very plucky fight, and a feature of the side is that they never cease trying, even when down.
This should be a rattling good match with both sides all out for points, and I fancy South China, unless they have really struck a poor patch, should just get home.
•
The 2nd Division programme is very interesting, insomuch that Navy Res, Queen's Regt., and K.O.S.B. Regt., are all engaged and all running strong for "the championship.. All the teams mentioned have worthy opponents. and may have to fight hard for the points. I.fancy the winners of the 2nd Division matches will

not a success and al though the team selected for Wednesday's trial is A good final selection. one, yet I don't think this is the If the selected
aide turns out to a man, we may see a good match, but will they? None of the trials so far has been worth anything compared with the hard Club games where players have shown their real worth.
I think Wednesday's trial should be the final trial of all possibles, and the probable team should then provisionally but not finally be selected and allowed a couple of really hard tests together for the sake of combination.
The "Sunday Herald" final be- tween England and Portugal takes place on Saturday week and this is the type of match in which many of our Interport probables will have a thorough trying out. The absence of outstanding Ser- vice players this year of the type of Sims, Northey, Hurst, McNiven, Rev. Alexander and Vernon has eased the Committee's task of selection considerably, but there are still very difficult positions to fill, the left.back position, the con- stitution of the half back line and the outside left position requiring very careful consideration indeed. The honour of playing for the Interport is a big one in a foot ball sense and although the large selection Committee

BILLIARDS
CLAUDE FALKINER AT THE SOUTH CHINA A. A.
A CLEVER EXHIBITION
Claude Falkiner started his short season in Hong Kong at the club rooms of the S.C.A.A. last evening and before capital attendance gave an extremely clever exhibi-" tlon. Opposed by Mr. P. 8. Leung, of the S.C.A.A., Falkiner completed his 800 while his opponent, who made two breaks of 44 and one of 45, scored 845.
Falkiner started slowly with 'a 39 and followed with a 73, a clever break, but in a small break of 44, the professional player gave a very fine exhibition of potting the red and placing his ball for the cannon by clever pulling, back. Loung compiled a nice break of 44 with top of the table cannons and Falkiner, replied with a 177, the best break of the evening, acoring rapidly from a series of nursery cannons at the top of the table.
Falkiner followed with a very N.nice break of 72 còmplied with all- round shote, and after losing the E. white in the first shot went on to make a really clever 52 break off the red ball, his placing of the red ball after each successive In-oft, being high class.

In exhibition billiard strokes fol- lowing the snooker frame, Falkiner delighted the company with some extremely clover running cannons, and masse shots, also a new item "looping the loop" this shot to- gether with one or two in-offs bòr- dering on the sensational.
Altogether a delightful opening, exhibition and the company at the close showed much appreciation.
