Only four of the original thirteen Chinese, two women and eleven men arrested by the police on charges of conspiracy to utter forged $60 (1923 issue) banknotes of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, were yester day afternoon committed by Mr. R. E. Lindaell, to stand their trial at the next Criminal Sessions.
Several of the defendants have been discharged at various stages In the case, and yesterday after noon only one woman and four men appeared before the Court.
The woman was discharged, the case against her being dropped having regard to her status as the wife of the first male defendant, who besides the charge relating to the local forged notes, had to face charges of possession of cop per plates bearing engravings of a Central Bank of China $10 note,
