The pirates, then took the ship to San Lung Leland, some 30 miles south-west of Macan, which. wis reaobed at 7 n.m. Here they went ashore, taking with them a quantity' of jewellery and other effects stolen from the passengers, officers and crew, and 30 tons of flour and fruits which were removed from the cargo hold. The total value of the loot is estimated at $5,000.

As soon as the pirates left the ship, Captain Harring made tracks back to Hong Kong.

The s.s. "Wong Shek Kung" which

is registered in Canton and flies the Chinese flak, is owned by the Wong Hang Hing S.S. Co., of No. 58A; Bonhamstrand. West. She has a tonnage of 1,044.
