In addition, six minor traverses were run, the errors being well within the prescribed limits.

GENERAL.

29. Nineteen Colony Sheets were taken up during the period under review. The 1:20000, 1:2400, and 1:10000 (map of Hong Kong and Kowloon) were corrected and the "Victoria" brought up to date. Various small surveys were made and plans prepared for the Police Department in connection with criminal cases. The annual perambulation of the Sino-British boundary was made for the inspection of boundary marks.

LEVELLING.

30. Considerable progress has been made with the levelling of the Colony, which, with the exception of a few short lines in outlying districts, has been completed. A detailed report with value of all bench marks is now in course of preparation. The following tabulated statement shows some of the work done during the year:
