Larwood putting on 124 runs for

the eighth wicket.

The yachts sailed by the Royal Navy in the morning were sailed by the Club in the afternoon, and the scoring was as follows:-1at yachi 17 points, 2nd 16, 3rd 14,

and so on.

The Morning Race The starting gun was fired at 11.10 am, the course being Club line west to cast (start), then Channel Rocks (P), Kowloon Rock (S), Channel Rocks (8), Mark on Line (S), Cust Rock Buoy (9), with the finish at the Club. 6.2 miles.

Then a sensation followed be- cause four of Australia's best batsmen were beaten by Larwood and Tate with only 40 runs up on the board for the home team. The Australians added four runs without further loss before stumps were drawn on the second day of the First Test Match.

Those who stayed away, how- ever, missed a first-class night's entertainment. Every fight on the bill was a "hummer"--and although there might be better boxers on the Coast, there cannot be better triers.

The arrangements, as usual, were admirable. The whole pro- gramme went off without a hitch, and a crowd of "fans" went home perfectly satisfied with a good night's aport.
