The "Sin Wan Pao" states that Mr. Arita's visit to Nanking in for the purpose of sounding the Nation- alist officials on the subject of the recognition of the privileges granted to Japan by the late Mar- shal Chang, Tao-lip for the construc- tion of five railways and the right to lease land in Manchuria, in con- sideration of the Japanese making concessions. in connection with treaty revision and the Tainan in- .cident.
The five railways are apparently: from Hailin, on the Chinese

The last Home mail to hand showed that considerable t prominence was given to the "Anking" piracy.
