CHINA NEWS, LOCAL NEWS

AND ALL THE NEWS

SEND IT HOME!

Discussions between Dr. C. T. Wang and Mr. Yada, extending as they did into a fortnight, have attracted consider able attention. Although Japan is the Power concerned, other nations are carefully watching developments in Nanking. Concise and informative reports of proceedings will be found in the "Overland China Mail."

The "Overland" is the only ILLUSTRATED weekly budget of "local" and "China" news. The current number is rich i topical pictures which will be particularly welcome at Home.

Locally there has been much of interest. An Investiture was held at Government House; the Portuguese Minister to China favoured Hong Kong with an unofficial visit; several important changes in the law have been made, including reforms m traffic and motoring regulations; Miss Maude Royden is delivering a series of addresses; the names of several merchant vessels have had prominence, for instance, the "Kwangse". (stranding); the "Kochow" (sequel to salvage), the "Tai Lee". (re-hearing), and the "Darcoile" (trouble among crew), also the launching ef two new gunboats for the Canton Government. One of several features is the exposure of latest Red scheming, an article which will be closely read if only because its predecessors were so widely reproduced in other parts of the Far East.

The Overland also reflects a very busy week in the realm of local sport and recreation.
