The following are entries for the Macao Fair Race Meeting to be held at Areia Preta Race Course, Macao, on November 4.

1. The November Novices Race:

Over the usual course, the first Championship race of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club was held on Saturday afternoon. Altogether eighteen yachts competed-eight in the Heyward Heys Class and five-Mr. K. Y. Ip's Diana, Major B. C. cach in the One Design and Gael Lake's As You Like It, Mr. Ho Sai

Diana's Efforts

Diana, the remaining yacht, was still out at 7.15 p.m., making desper ate efforts to get round Cust Rock after having been becalmed for a considerable time and forced to an- chor in Kowloon Bay.

It was explained that Diana's perseverance was due to the fact that two yachts having completed the course within the time limit, the race for this class 'was "on," and

as the other two yachts had dropped out of the race, Diana could finish within the following 24 hours, or even later, and still secure third place and score points towards the Championship Cup.

Eventually Diana succeeded in completing the course almost five hours after the Rola, the first yacht

The Chinese and Military could continue to hold their own events, but if they would call them the mile race and not the harbour race, 29 that time honoured event would re- tain its glory. As it was, Mr. Cooke thought that the other Clubs were more or less encroaching on the V.R.C.'s preserves.
