Among the alleged conspirators arrested are a number of soldiers and Republican leaders. Brigadier. General Lopez Archos, one of the Dictator's opponents, is reported to be under arrest at Barcelona, and General Gironde was arrested at Valencia.
None of the reports from the frontier speaks of any actual out- break, and the situation is said to be well in hand.
A despatch. published in the Parla "Journal" states that the streets of Madrid were alive with taxicabs, requisitioned by the police, who used them for the pur- pose of making arrests, and by nine a.m. 200 had been made.
The plot was definitely of a revolutionary nature. It was planned to diatribute agitators amongst the 10,000 members of the Patriotic Union who were con- centrating on the capital to cele-i brate the anniversary of the, de Rivera dictatorship. The object
