THREE IN A TEAM AT EVIAN

A reader forwards the following extract of a letter received from Mr. J. Hooper, formerly of the Hong Kong and Kowloon Wharf and Godown Co., Ltd.:-

·

"I am enclosing a cutting from the Continental "Daily Mail" ΣΕ golf. In the Lausanne team of six players there were three old Hong Kong men, viz. G. G. Brady, C. P. Chater and myself, somewhat of a record I should say. It might interest the "China Mail."

The cutting reads:-

Evian-les-Bains (Haute-Savole). -The season at Evian continues in full swing. The country is never more beautiful than in September, with the clear outlines of the moun tains and wonderful pink sunsets.

The salon of the Royal Hotel was crowded the other night with visitors who came to see Myrian Forster dance.

Among those present were Queen Amelie of Portugal, Mr. Arthur Samuel (Secretary to the Treasury) and Mrs. Samuel.

At the Cercle Sportif the prizes presented by M. Andre de Neuflize for golf mixed foursomes against bogey were won by Mr. Richard Mount and Mlle. Bernhelm. P. W. D. L. F. A. Pts.
