the Valley to-morrow and there

is also a big Chinese match at Caroline Hill on Sunday.

The opening programme is as follows:-

Saturday, September 20. Chinese Athletic (winners of of Lengue, 1927-28) v. Rest League, kick off 5 p.m., Club ground, Valley. Referce: Captain Austin.

Hong Kong Club v. Army Small Units, Club ground, Valley, kick off. 3.30 p.m.

Sunday, September 30. South China A.A. v. Lok Hwa, Caroline, Hill, kick off 4.30 p.m..

These are very interesting matches and the League winners are hoping to field all last year's successful side, including Pau Ka-ping, their brilliant goalie who this year is playing for South China.

The Rest team, although not the best the League could have chosen, is nicely selected with a view to Club representation, prac- tically all the Clubs being repre 'sented in the team, which should give the Athletic a fine run. The form of both sets of players will be closely watched and there should be a very large crowd there.

Before the big match the Club are fielding their full available strength against the Army Small Units, the newly-entered Army team in the Senior League, and the Club will line up as follows:- Logan (goal), Stewart and Holt (backs). McBride (captain), Massey and Watson (half backs). Alexander, Reid, Peers, Scott, Trambitsky (forwards).

*

The Club's new, men will have a good tryout as will the New Army team, and the new players on the Club side start with good reputations, one being an old "Charterhouse School" player;
