RETIREMENT OF PRIMATE.-It is announced that the King has received with great regret an intimation from the Archbishop of Canterbury that he is desirous of resigning his high office. His Majesty on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, has, by Royal Warrant, appointed a Com- mission consisting of the Archbishop of York, the Bishop of London, the Bishop of Durham and the Bishop of Winches- ter for the purpose of receiving the resignation.
