ALLEGED DISCREPANCIES IN LOAD LINE, ETC.

Owing to discrepancies in lond line and passenger certificates, nine vessels flying the Chinese flag have been held-up by the Harbour authorities.

These vessels are the Taiszema, Fook Lee, Shui Hing, Sun On, Wing Wo, Chung Hing, Soon Ann, Sun Sai Kal and Chuen, Lee.

THREE CHINESE BEFORE THE MAGISTRATE.

Three Chinese, two of them described as steersmen, the other as a master of their junks, ap- peared before Mr. Walter Schofield at the Kowloon Court this morning, In answer to a charge of removing sand from: beaches within the prohibited area. They pleaded guilty.

In outlining the case, Sergeant Shepherd, of the Water Police, said that the first and second de- fendants had removed sand from the beach called Sam Pak, while while the third defendant had committed a similar offence ata beach called Ngau Kwu Wan

Defendants did not have per mits and according to police re cords, all had previous convic tions for a similar offence
