Banks:--Had steady buyers at $1295, with sellers holding out for rather more.
Unions:-Had a further rise and now have buyers at $346.
China Fires-Again rose five points and close with buyers at $245.

The price trend is following a steady upward curve. This pointed a smart rise and aro now want- has been particularly noticeable ed at $635. where offers have been made for propertles and the offers allowed to stand for several months owing to sellers being unwilling to negoti ate at the firm offer figures. In all cases of this nature coming to the notice of the writer, the buyer in each instance has raised his offer to a higher figure.
