In December there were 229 boys on the Register, of which number 67 were boarders and 162 day boys. The average attend- ance in December was 218.76.

The Headmaster reported to me that there had been very little sickness since my last visit. The owner of the property improved the roof during the summer holidays. I was informed that Nathan-road in the neighbour- hood of the School was always flooded during heavy rain, so that there would appear to be something defective in the levels and/or sizes of the storm-water draina. This is bound to prove a great asset in general welfare and education of the boys.

I understand that the School will move back to its own splendid buildings and grounds at the end of this month. I therefore should like to take this opportunity to recommend that the lareg number of very old beds and mattresses

FOOTBALL

We have had a very successful season in football due to a large extent to the possession of our own ground close to the school. Our first eleven, more particular- ly the forwards, are learning the great value of playing as a team, combining and passing instead of the former wild kicking.

TENNIS.

Immediately after the School moved to its temporary premises two new courts were constructed; these proved to be ample as the number of students was not great and the proportion of tennis players small. There was great enthusiasm amongst the junior players.

The Seniors played nine matches, of which seven were won and two lost.
