THE H.K.F.C's NEW CLUB HOUSE.
HOME OF INTERPORTS.
[By "Rover."]
During the week, the Hong-Kong Football Club, at an extraordinary general meeting, had no difficulty, in the presence of a very represen- tative gathering of mambors, in passing unanimously the scheme for a new club-baune-a require ment much needed for years and, fortunately, made practicable by the great popularity of soccer at Happy Valley and elsewhere.
The now club-house offers space and comfort for training and all attendant necessities.
Next Season.
Old captains of the H.K.F.C. present in Messrs. J. McCubbin, J. Stewart, J. Ralaton, C. D. Wales, etc., must view with pleasure the arrangements made for
their re presentatives in the soccer and rugger acctions for next season. A revival in Club football under both codes is hoped for and expected; and there should be no obstacle in the encouragement of as much junior talent ns will be available. The Club did vary moderately last year. Little interest was taken in the doings of the 1st XI. and prac tically none in the reserves. The ground was always well packed when the local Chinese XI.'s, who used the Club ground and were practically, the home teams, were playing.

Competition for Gates.
The "Dragons" held the lead from the commencement, scoring five runs in five Innings during which they held down the Filipinos. to a blank score. Zafra and his crow made a belated effort in the sixth venture but managed to get in only two runs.
An incident early in the game, in which the Chinese were allowed rone run under protest (of which more anon), appeared to have had
a depressing effect on the Filipinos;; but there is no getting away from the fact, as experience has shown time and again, that the "Dragons" are a hard lot to beat when things are going smoothly for them.
Zafra, the Filipino pitching ace, has been seen to much better ad- vantage. He was very erratic and seemed easily rattled with the result that he "walked" too many opposing batters than was good for
his. side.
THAT UGLY INCIDENT.
An ugly incident occurred in the second inning which threatened to put a stop to the game there and then but after a great deal of heat- cd argument in which umpires, | players and spectators took part alike, the point in question was al- lowes (under protest by the Fill- pinos) and the game continued,
