NOT HONG KONG'S TATTOO!-But spectacular military displays at the Grand Royal Military tournament opened by H.M. the King at Olympia, London, on May 24. One of the chief features was the magnificent historical display by the Royal Scots Fusiliers in period costumes from 1678-1928. Other striking performances were, Musical Drives and Rides, Gun Competitions, Mounted Displays, "Trick Riding and Gymnastic Displays, etc.-(Sport and General).

at Twickenham, sports Middlesex, on May 5. Poise and agility gracefully displayed in this fine leap in the hurdles by coming athletes. Their Games Mistress, who is training them, was the former Miss Callobeau, the well-known sprinter. (Sport and General),
SPEEDING UP OCEAN TRAVEL! — A `number of passengers were taken on board a U.S. Army Airship at a New York Acrodronie and transferred to a ship lying some miles off the city, afterwards being carried back again. The test was completely successful, the mooring of the air ship being carried out with smoothness. (Sport and General).
THE WEST'S ROYAL WELCOME FOR THE PRINCE.-- H.R.H. the Prince of Wales received a great welcome from the West Country when he opened the Royal Edward Dock extension arm at Avonmouth, Bristol, on May 23.-(Sport

QUAINT:CUSTOM OF A LONDON CHURCH. Choir boys from St. Clement Danes Church in the Strand, London, armed with wands, carry out the quaint old custom of "beating the Parish bounds," on May 17. CAPTAIN WILKINS' ARCTIC EXPEDITION.-Captain Wilkins and Lt. Eielson, who recently flew in an aeroplane to the North Pole arrive at King's Bay, Spitzbergen, to welcome General Nobile, and the Airship Italia." Capt. Wilkins and Lt. Eielson, in their aeroplane landing on the ice at Spitzbergen. Capt. Wilkins has since been officially honoured.(Sport and General).
