The motor cyclo trial organised under the auspices of the mobile section of the Armoured Car Com- pany, H.K. Volunteers, was a com- plete success in every way and ex- eited considerable interest not only among the competitors but among large numbora of the public who gathered at various points en route to watch dificult sectors negotiat-

Booker (periencing minor spills requiring up); R. Wallace beat G. McLeod (4nttention for scrutches and bruises. As considerable data will have to be gone through in the matter of times of arrival at given points and secret checks at various points, it will be impossible to announce the result until to-morrow. It is antisfactory to note that nearly all competitora completed the course.

Congratulations are due to all concerned for the excellent turn- out and efficient arrangements. Now that it has been shown that there is the requisite keenness among competitors and enough organising ability it should be pos sible to arrange similar events in the future.

The final of the Royal Hong Kong Golf Club ladies' section champion ship was played over the course at Fanling yesterday, and was won by Mrs. R. E. Tottenham, who beat Mrs. T. S. Whyte-Smith, 8 up and 2

to play.

Mrs. H. R. B. Hancock presented the championship cup to Mrs. Tottenham and the runner-up cup to Mrs. Whyte-Smith, after which, in the absence of the Hon. Mr. E. R. Hallifax, Captain of the R.H.K.G.C., Mr. H. R. B. Hancock made a brief speech of congratula- tion.

Mrs. F. A. Redmond, Captain of the Ladies' Section, thanked Mrs. Hancock.
