London, Dec. 18.- The German yacht "Hamburg”' 69 tons, commanded by Capt. Kirchoiss, the former navigating officer of the German raider "Secadler," arrived at Cowes to day after voyage round the world

in 689 days.

Capt. Kircheiss, in an Interview, paid a tribute to the friendly re ception he received In Colombo, Singapore and other British places. He said the people were extremely aporting.

SHIPBUILDING.

NOVEMBER TONNAGE BEST OF

THE YEAR.

In November, Clyde shipbuilders launched 25 vessels, of 78,677 tons, which included three large boats,. the C.P.R. liner "Duchess of Atholl" (of 21,500 tons), the motor tanker Victolite" (12,000, tons), and the C.P.R. cargo steamer "Beaverhill” (10.000 tons).

The output compares with 20 vessels, of 72,685 tons, in October, and 17 vessels, of 57,119 tona in September, which was the previous highest total this year. The high aggregates in October and Novem ber are, however, the direct result

For the 11 months of this year the launches consist of 199 vessels, of 406,656 tons, compared with 113 vessels, of 256,563 tons, last year, 196 vessels, of 492,521 tons, in 1925, and 238 vessels, of 628,816 tons, in 1913, which had the high- est output on record for the period. Prospects of employment during the winter are good, but unless there is an improvement in the placing of contracts there is bound to be a falling-off in the spring.
