It will necessitate at least eight tugs at the most critical stage of the Suez Canal, on which all other traffic will be suspended to enable the gigantic structure to crawl, at barely a mile an hour" the sides of the dock almost touching the banks.

The M.V. "Viminale" (D. & Co.) sailed from Aden on December 5, and ́is due here on Thursday.

London, Sunday. Naval circles are surprised at the announcement of extra pay for air pilots and observers appointed to submarine aircraft carriers.
It is known that experiments have been made in Great Britain and elsewhere in this connection, but the tests have been regarded as "hush hush" naval work.
The experts are faced with dim- cult problems owing to the limited space on a submarine, but it is stat- ed that great progress has been made.
Some quarters doubt the ex- pediency of thus revealing what, has been done in the British Navy.
