The retiring captain of the Royal Hong Kong Golf Club, at the an nual meeting yesterday, outlined

Mr. D. Tollan, engineer of the Telephone Company, intimated to the Magistrate that the Company took a serious view of the case.
The first Mr. Tollan knew of the accused's arrest was when he re- ceived a telephone message from Mr. Field of the Peninsula Hotel on Tuesday, and he proceeded to the Hotel where he saw the ac-} cased.
Engineer's Discovery.
Mr. Tollan examined the pre-i mises and found that a number of coils of wire similar to those pro-i duced in Court had been cut and stolen.
