Why Mr. F. C. Jenkin. Left.
NO DISCOURTESY.
Magistrate Accepla Lawyer's Explanation.
There was an echo on Saturday morning of the sensational ending on Friday of the $50,000 forged cheque case in which the prosecu- tors, the Yokohama Specie Brak, announced through their counsel, Mr. F. Lindsell at the Central Magla- tracy in connection with the alleged conspiracy charge brought by the Wing On Company against F. Chan, a former assistant manager in the Company's Ship Chandlery Depart- ment.
Before proceeding with the cross- examination of Chan, Mr. Jenkin made reference to the happenings of the previous day. He said that it was with consternation that he rend on Friday the "scare" head- lines concerning the case in the afternoon papers. The motning papers, he added, traint about the matter.

He explained that he had remained in Court after the withdrawal of the case against the accused be-1 cause he had wanted to listen to Mr. Lo, but as what the latter said was uninteresting and beside the point, he thought that he would go away.
