This wonderful instrument was presented to the young violinist by the New York banker. Mr. Henry Seligman, in appreciation of his evidently exceptional talent, and in the hope that this talent would blossom into the genius of a great master.
The violin was made more than!
three centuries ago, and for quality of tone is said to be almost without equal. It is regarded priceless, but if one did have to make an apprai- sal, experts estimate that ten thou- sand dollars would not be excessive.
The presentation accurred last winter at Palm Beach, Florida, when Vallejo had been invited to give a concert for friends of the banker. He was accompanied by his. manager and pianist, Leonard Elsmith, Mr. Seligman has adopted the young musician as bis protege and will give him the finest musical education available.
