Further to the 15-round fight between Paolino Uzcudun the Spanish, and Harry Wills, Negro, R.C., 76.
at Brooklyn on July 19, which the Spaniard won in the fourth round, Reuter says:—
Wills, (aged 35), weighed in at 16 st. 4 lbs, and Uzcudun (25) at 13 at. 13 lbs.
Wills was expected to win, but Uzcudun, displaying unexpected punching power, soon put an end to his veteran opponent's hopes. After three rounds of desultory mauling, the Spaniard suddenly felled Wils with an axe-like right- hander. Rising to his feet stag- goring after a count of nine, Wills was floored a second and last time with crushing right-handers- Reuter's American Service.
