Latest wireless messages received by the naval authorities in Hong Kong report another important success for General Chiang Kai-shek, Cantonese troops loyal to his cause having occupied Chang- sha, two hundred miles from Hankow.
General Chiang Kai-shek is now reported to be in control of the greater part of Hunan Province, which he has wrested from the Communists who held it after the split in the Kuomintang..
According to a wireless message, General Tang Sengzhi, one of the chief Hankow generals has arrived at Changsha, it is thought either to make terms for the Communists or to throw in his lot with General Chiang Kai-shek.

He said he hoped that before many years the interchange be- tween colonies and the Colonial Office and one colony and another would be as free and natural as in the fighting services.
The whole subject is being debated in the House of Commons to-day, the Labour Party moving a motion amounting, in effect, to a vote of censure. The motion seeks to refer the matter to a Select Committee.

"Flimsy Pretext and Doubtful Arguments."
London, May 25,
M. Rosengolz, the Soviet Charge d'Affaires in London, in a long statement in reply to Mr. Stanley Baldwin's statement in the House of Commons, on May 24 expresses amazement and deep regret that the British Govern- ment has reached such an import- ant decision on such a "flimsy pre- text and that such doubtful argu- ments have been used to justify the decision."
M. Rosengolz declares that two definite conclusions can be drawn from Mr. Baldwin's statement:--- (1) there is evidently not a par- ticle of evidence that the mysterious document alleged to have been lost ever found its way to Arcos House or was in any wise handled by any employee of the Trade Delegation or Arcos Limited, and
