The unusual sight of French | men and Germans fighting one another and then kissing one an- other was seen at the Cirque de Paris when the first Franco- German boxing show held since the war was staged before several thousand spectators. The crowd cheered on the German boxers) with wild shouts of "Go on, Fritzie; kill him, kill him ...

Too much "kiss in the ring" was disapproved, however,, when the French heavy-weight Barrick was given the decision over the German Rosemann, whom the re- feree disqualified for hitting low. Instead of applauding, the crowd howled for its money back, alleg ing that the Frenchman had lain down to the German and booing the referee.

Frenchmen won four of the five events.
