The erection of a new sport cattle building at the Eastern Public Cattle Th
Market in Montreal is another step in the establishment of better marketing for the live stock producer and at the same time to establish sound business conditiona maiding for greater prosperity in the live-stock industry. Opened recently, this new building is regarded as one of the finest, if not the finest of its kind on the American continent, having accommodation for 50 carloads of cattle at one time. By the arrangement of 25 cattle chutes on each side of the main alley-way of the huge structure, a train of twenty- five cars can be unloaded at each side. Two tagglag chutes occupy the centre of the main runway with elevated platforms to facilitate the marking of export cattle as required by the British markets. A careful study to eliminate the exciting and bruising of cattle was made and the results of many ex- perimente along these lines have been embodied in the construction of this new building.
