A correspondent points out that times returned on Thursday, and Wednesday in the Colony's swim- ming championships (organized by the V.R.C.) compare unfavourably with those Bf last year..
Is there any particular reason for this? Perhaps the, swimmers them- selves may supply an answer.

Messrs. Dyer and Keith have not won a race during the extra season and I think their chance will come in the 7th race where Loch Rannoch should do well, especially if nobody sends out a pacemaker.
The last race of the day will give an opportunity to Dobbin and The Gnome to renew acquaint- ances. Four months ago, the Gnome surprisingly defeated Dob- bin. by 1% lengths. Instead of conceding 11 lbs., Dobbin will only be 3 lbs, heavier and the same jockeys will ride. This ought to. be another splendid fight with not many starters.
