It is semi-oßeially rentirmed that M. Poinçare's financial men aures, which will be introduced in
the Chamber of Deputies on Tues-
day, will be confined to a revision | or increase of taxes and a drastic reduction in expenditure.
It is estimated that the Trea sury, needs 2 milliards franës. more before December 31, which will be obtained from indirect taxes, including revision the business turnover tax import duties on coffee, tea, rice, ete.. and an increase of Customs transport tariff's.
The proceeds of the readjustment of direct taxes will not be afailable before 1927. They will be allocat- ed to the Sinking fund and floating
debt.
Poincare means to rush the measures through Parliament, which it is thought, will rise about August 8-Reuter.
