SOUTH CHINA'S WINNING SEQUENCE.

VOLUNTEERS' BLANK. Following on their severe de- feat by the Japanese the previous weck, the Hongkong Volunteer Defence Corps team showed very little improvement in their meet- ing on Saturday with the South China A.A. They had eight hits. but failed to obtain a run in all 'sevon innings in the league base- ball match...

With fourteen hits and a number of beautiful errors, South China in their first inning made nine runs, followed up with three in the next and single in the fourth, making a total of 18 runs

In the fifth inning Lammert had safely stolen to third on a hit with two of his side down, but the next man was struck out. This was as far as they could get" and their dismissal in the other innings was speedy. Good double play by the South China men at the two nearest bases marked the close of the last inning.
