From Our Own Correspondent.)
Amoy, May 23.
The Third South Fukion Mest was held successfully under the auspices of the South Fukien Amateur Athletic Association, on the University campus in Amoy, on May 27. 23, and 20. Quite a large erowd of hardy onthusiasts braved the elements on Friday, May 28, to witness the cloning events of the track and feld meets.
In
con-
trast to Thursday, the condition eliautically was of the very worst.
Continuous shoets of rain were driving down the field. Decisive games for both the cennis and the volley ball were played off in beautiful sunshine on Saturday
morning, and in that very after- noon the soccer players had a bath and waded around in heavy tor rent of rain.

Liberal Oxford," the Leader, in a speech which he made at a luncheon in honour of Six John Simon, referred briefly and with restraint to the controversy between himself and Mr. D. Lloyd George, Leader of the Liberal Party in the House of Commons He said that he had already ex plained his views as definitely and unequivocally as he could. To that explanation he had nothing to add, and from it he had nothing to take away. In regard to yea terday's meeting of the Liberal Parliamentary Party, under the presidency of Mr. Lloyd George, the sense of which he understood was to be conveyed to him, Lord Oxford said that he would receive any such communication not only with courtesy but with respect.
