Although fer a long time past. rumours have been in circulation of proposed amalgamation of the NY.K. with the T.K.K., and as a matter of fact, schemes have been put forward with that object in view, the proposed fusing of the two big companies did not go. through owing to dissent over the terms. Recent negotiations, how ever, re-opened through the good ¡offices of certain Influential
Japanese business men, have suc-| cecded in bringing both parties
and conditions. drafted by them, sa that a provisional contract was entered into, which contract by the extraordinary general meet ins held respectively by the T.K.K. and NY.K. on February 16 md March 1 was adopted by the shareholders of each com- pary.
