The "Lepage" was 80-, olored in the roadstead when the fire broke out and was soon abisze from stem to stern. The passengers hung over the bows until they were picked up by the Lanape's boats. Some of the passengers fell into the water on leaving the ship whose masts had fallen. A number of ramrunners helped in the rescue......
