To the Editor of the "Athletic News,"

Sir- it not possible, that the call for youth in the next series, of tests may be overdone? It is, apparent that youth will be serve:1, but after all the selectors' task next year will be to choose the very best tenn best as a team, If this is done in batting, etc. age is of no importance at all.

In your last issue Mr. G. J. Marlborough includes in his tearn some of the younger school wito should, some day, play for Eng- land, but their time is not yet, t next year is, no time for experi- ments. Let us pick men who have proved, and will still be proving next year, that they can make runs, take wickets, and save run. Such a team would be:-Hubbs, Holmes, Woolley, Sutcliffe. Hendren, A. W. Carr (captain), Kilner. Tate, Macaulay, Root and Strudwick (or possibly Lilley, of Notts, if he continues to improve).
