ALL THE NEW RULES TO BE OBSERVED.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT.

A local sporting writer having pointed out that the referee of a "friendly" football match last Friday had ignored the new rule regarding off-side, the "China Mal" sought Mr. W. E. Hollands, honorary secretary to the Hong- kong Football Association, for an official statement.

Mr. Hollands remarked that little importance was attached to A practice match but all the re- forms in football laws would have to be observed for the season рторек, the league, shield and official-competitions.

Such changes, of course, refer to the throw-in and off-side. The latest news on the subject from Home papers is given elsawhere in this page.

In reply to a further question, Mr. Hollands said that referees would, automatically, be cognisant of the changes in the rules.
