HONGKONG APPROVES ULTIMATUM.
'AVOIDING HYSTERICS," "
"Impressive Statements. Of Facts."
Amidst great applause the resolution voicing the opinion of the Colony that the Home Government should take action quickly in regard to the situation in China and making concrete suggestions ns to the lines such netion should take, was carried at yesterday's public meeting in the Theatre Royal which was attended by as many as could get inside. Exception to what he termed the "usurping of the functions of the Home Government" and the manner in which the revolution "dictated" to the Home Government was taken by 0000001 | Mr. 9. S. Fitzroy, a local barrister, who, in the course of a speech D00000001 | expressing his sentiments, was subjected to harkling or the part of other members of the audience. These were during pauses in his speech, however, and the tenor of it was plainly audible to everyone. With the exception of Mr. Fitzroy's, all speeches wore in favour of the resolution.
