New York, July 27. The death of Mr. W, J. Bryan occurred almost on the eve of what he was anticipating as tho crowning glory of life, namely, a trip with hundreds of followers to Palestine following as nearly as possible the exact footsteps of Christ, and his plans were virtually complete.

DIED PEACEFULLY,

The death of Mr. Bryan has stunned the country. Before tying down for the last sleep Mr Bryan told his wife he never felt better and was ready to go to the country and wage war against Modernism.

Mr. Bryan lay down after lunch on Sunday at Dayton, His wife Bent a chauffeur to wake him late In the afternoon and found him dend. His wife, who was very calm, said that she was glad that her husband had died peacefully, He desired to be buried at the Arlington National Cemetery Washington, as he had been Colonel in the Spanish-American War.
