Boxing Decision.

(T), the Editor of the China 'Mail).

Sir-The letter of your cor- respondent "Candid” is só full of inaccuracies that he is harily worth consideration.

To Gupte one instance, he says that Dupree won by a street, and in the same breath he says that the margin was smail. Surely these are con tradictory. Then again in the details given in the letter he has much to say about Dupree's lefts. These did not worry Cartlidge in the least for all I could see;"as after all they amounted to some- thing like an old lady caressing a baby.

The consensus of opinion at the hall was that Cartlidge was the better man on the run of the fight. I was not guided by this when I wrote my impressions on Sunday: If "Candid" had rend yesterday's morning papers he would have seen the opinion expressed that Cartlidge was clearly the winner. Not being a Peimanist, I have made no mental calculations, and I still adhere to the belief that the decision should have gone to Cartlidge.
