The amount of capital which has lately flowed from New York to Germany has contributed a great deal to the return of more. normal conditions. The high interest which was generally paid |-- for credits to Germany has to a certain extent supported the rate of interest in Holland. The influence of the less active demand for capituls is immediately felt here in the easing of money rates.

YARN MARKET REPORT.
Under date of February 17 Messrs. Polishwalla and Kotwall, cotton and yarn brokers, report as
follow:--
We have again to report an absolutely blank period since the issue of our last report, on the 17th ultimo, a period of one whole month, during which there has not only been an entire absence of business, but practically no de liveries, the latter, we are inform- Jed being due to the adverse exchange with Yunnan. Other factors, which add to the deplor able state of our market; are the political unrest all over the coun- try, and the heavy decline in Shanghai and Japanese yarns. A slump in prices is also reported from Bombay, whilst local dealers, in their anxiety to dispose of their holdings, are selling what they can $5 to $8 even below our quotations,
Shanghai and Japan. Both, markets are as stated above.
TREASURY BONDS REDEEMED. The circumstance that a large amount of Treasury bonds and bills due on December 1 were redeemed without a new issue has also contributed to an easy money market. Notwithstanding the approaching end of the year. the banks have large amounts, available which are partly flowing to the investment market. The latter therefore remains firm The popularity of the Govern ment's securities has increased.. owing to the prospect that no new state loans will be issued in the near future.
Therefore there is every reason to expect, that private companies which will have to make an appeal on the money market will be able to borrow on more favourable terms.
The great demand for invest- ment securities is proved by the fact that lately large amounts of Dutch and East Indian loans issued in the United States have been re-purchased.
BANK RATE CUT.
The Netherland Bank has followed the development of has reduced its bank rate from 5 money rates in this market and.
