In an S.P.C.A. prosecution before Mr. J. R. Wood at the Central Magistracy this morning, a Chinese was fined $10 for overcrowding poultry in two baskets which he was taking to Yaumati.

Inspector Fisher, who prosecut- ed, stated that he caught the of fender just in time, as the chickens. were heaped one on top of another In the baskets and many of them would have been dead when they reached their destination.
