In sultry weather, Mr. "Solly" Sutclife has scored his third consecutive century in Test Joel's team scored 269 runs (Rid: Matches, and equalled w.dell 5 wickets for 68.); Bardsley's hitherto unique foat; in matches between England and Australia, by scoring a century in each innings.
Bardsley's feat was achieved at the Oval in 1009 when he scored 136 and 180 for England against the Australians,
The feature of Sutcliffe's re- markable performance was his defence, which proved as impreg- nable us the Rock of Gibraltar.
His first 50 runs occupied 2 hours and 45 minutes in the making.
Strudwick was out with the At lunch score at 75 for two. time the board read 121 for 2.
