On certain days in November there was lively demand for raw silk, chiefly from Lyons.
Then followed a period of great calm. It is reported that at the end of November the stocks of raw silk in Lyons were 18,000 bales, which is not propitious news for China. The demand" for raw silk in America has slackened consider- ably during recent months, and buyers are extremely cautious, apparently expecting a further easing in prices.
