At a meeting of the All India Congress Committee, Mr. Gandhi, moving the approval of a com promise, made a surprising recant- ation of his views, especially re- garding entry to the Legislative Councils, which he hitherto had resolutely opposed and which was the main bariler beteen the orthodox politicians and the Swarafists.
